Introduction and maintenance of a comprehensive Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) platform to support the entire release process in the German Sales Technology Platform

Anforderungen

• Independent planning and management of all Salesforce release activities across all Salesforce environments as part of an external mandate – with the aim of ensuring the smooth, coordinated and timely delivery of Salesforce releases
• Creation and implementation of detailed cutover plans for all weekly releases, mapping all technical, organisational and procedural steps for the transition to the production environment – including schedule, rollback scenarios and go/no-go criteria
• Coordination of all platform and specialist teams involved (e.g. development, QA, DevOps, infrastructure) before, during and after the release – to ensure coordinated implementation and minimise risks and dependencies
• Management and maintenance of all relevant release artefacts, including installation instructions, release notes, technical manuals and acceptance documents – to ensure traceability and audit security
• Supervision and active monitoring of the release process using Salesforce tools and GitLab CI/CD pipelines during implementation (cutover window) – including coordination of status updates, escalations and decision-making in the event of deviations or critical incidents
• Proactive communication with all relevant stakeholders via a designated internal contact person – including reporting on release progress, risks, blockers and lessons learned after go-live
• Independent implementation of release retrospectives and continuous improvement measures to ensure release quality
• Management of the Salesforce GitLab repository and implementation of appropriate branching strategies in collaboration with technical leads

• Extensive experience in planning, coordinating and implementing software and platform releases in complex IT environments
• Creation and implementation of detailed cutover plans with a focus on risk minimisation and production stability
• Confident handling of release artefacts, documentation standards and handover criteria
• Experience in cross-functional coordination with cross-functional teams (e.g. DevOps, QA, infrastructure)
• Confident use of common release and planning tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow)
• Experience in release monitoring and follow-up, including lessons learned workshops
• Excellent knowledge of Salesforce DevOps practices
• Expertise in GitLab CI/CD configurations
• In-depth experience with agile processes and ITIL

• Proactive problem-solving skills to identify potential risks in the release process at an early stage and avoid them through preventive measures
• Strong communication skills to convey complex technical content and status information in a clear, structured and target group-oriented manner
• High level of organisational talent and self-management to efficiently plan and reliably implement parallel release activities
• Flexibility and adaptability to confidently manage short-term changes or challenges in the cutover process and act in a solution-oriented manner
